THANE: About a month after a roof collapsed on a house in Ulhasnagar in Maharashtra’s Thane district killing five people, police reported a murder case against a builder, the official said.

A friend of the suspected builder, Manoj Sevakram Lahore, was arrested at the Ulhasnagar police station on Saturday in connection with an investigation report and a complaint filed against him by government officials. However, the plaintiff has not yet been arrested.

In an incident on May 15, paint fell on five rooms under a one- to a five-story building, killing five people.

Lahore’s complaint alleges that he built the building in 1994-96 without permission and used high-quality, high-quality materials, police said.

They are listed under section 304 of the IPC (Homicide) and others, as well as the Maharashtra Spatial Planning Act.
